Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.

Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.

** Contains spoilers for The Immortal Rules**

The Eternity Cure is the long awaited sequel to The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, and oh my goodness, it was definitely worth the wait. The Immortal Rules ended infuriatingly with our heroine Allison (Allie) Sekemoto discovering that her sire, teacher and mentor Kanin was being held and sadistically tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. This came right after helping Zeke Crosse successfully lead his people to 'Eden', the promised land free of vampires. So sort of bitter-sweet, and by bitter-sweet, I mean terrible.

Let's just get this out of the way, I am a HUGE fan of Kanin. Zeke is adorable and all, but there's something about Kanin... and I totally acknowledge that it would be all sorts of wrong if I championed him to be Allie's love interest since he's like her father, but I definitely could not handle the possibility of him dying! So I needed Allie to hurry the f*&k up and rescue him, to put it nicely :)

And that is exactly where The Eternity Cure begins. 10 points to Kagawa! I was like a sated baby with a bottle. We all know The Immortal Rules was fantastic; the world building was vivid and exciting, and the plot once it got under way was a perfectly delivered intense and epic dystopian fantasy. But... imagine a novel that had that intensity and that epicness. right. from. the. beginning. Presenting to you, ladies and gentleman, The Eternity Cure.

With all the world building already established, Kagawa had free rein to make this sequel unbelievably action packed. Kagawa is a master at ruthlessly toying not only with our emotions, but our sense of right and wrong. Allie is rescuing Kanin, but she doesn't know where he is. Time is running out, the pressure is building to find Kanin before he loses his mind forever. She needs help. The only spoiler you're getting is that the wary ally is indeed Jackal, her vampire brother of sorts. That certainly spices things up a bit right. The possibility of joining forces with the vampire who ruthlessly killed your friends by feeding them to rabids for pure entertainment...

Could you do it?

What if he could help you find Kanin? or defeat Sarren...

The Eternity Cure continues Allie's inner struggle to come to terms with being a vampire, a monster. With Zeke on the line, can she prove she still has a shred of humanity? Could she love a human? Could a human love her?

There are so many questions, and all the answers lie in The Eternity Cure, you just have to read it.

A massive thank you to Harlequin Enterprises Australia for sending me this ARC to review!
