Maggie is forced to make some tough decisions, and not all of those decisions have a favourable outcome...
The romance is just fabulous, and it's definitely one of my favourite aspects about the book. I must admit, it's pretty drama filled, but it's a good drama rather than melodrama.
It's good drama because it makes sense.
It's good drama because the characters are able to solve the problems rationally, and actually talk to each other about the way they're feeling.
It's good drama because you can truly see that the characters share a connection, and you really, really, really, really want them to stay together.
It's just plain good drama.
Okay, can we talk about Gus? Gus needs a paragraph dedicated to him. For those who don't know who he is, Gus is a hacker who main character Maggie blackmails to help her, forcing them into a shaky alliance which eventually develops into a tentative friendship. AND OH MY GOD GUS IS THE BEST. He provides the much needed comic relief, and the banter he has with Maggie is both witty and acerbic. I just love the evolution of his relationship with Maggie, and while there's sort of the hint of a love triangle at one point, personally I wouldn't really categorise it as one.
And can I just say, FEELS. MAJOR FEELS. With our main characters taking on the biggest corporation in the world, you know there are going to casualties, and HOLY CRAP THE FEELS.
With a strong narrative voice, plenty of action and drama, a fantastic romance and fabulous secondary characters, the Disruption duology is definitely one you shouldn't miss out on.
