Since this is the first one, I'll just include the books I've read in the past two weeks.
First Read
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein- 5 Stars.
Quintana of Charyn by Melina Marchetta- 5 Stars.
The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson- 5 Stars + Incredible. Reviewed
The Last Stand of the New York Institute by Cassandra Clare- 5 Stars
Heartbeat by Elizabeth Scott- 4 Stars. Reviewed
The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling- 3 Stars
This book was weird. I feel like I was reading it going "what even is the point of the book?" which obviously isn't really a good thought to be having. It was just really long and really boring, to be honest. I gave it 3 stars because it was okay enough for me to keep reading, although I can't say I particularly enjoyed it.
Shadows on the Moon by Zoe Marriott- 5 Stars
Shadowfell by Juliet Marillier- 4 Stars. Reviewed
Avalon by Mindee Arnett- 5 Stars. To be reviewed.
Reread
Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket- doing a slow reread of the entire series :)
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell- for Rainbow Rowell Month
Currently (re)Reading
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Most Listened to Songs
I really need to read Code Name Verity--everyone seems to love it! I've been intrigued by The Casual Vacancy, so your thoughts on it have me pondering. I haven't heard that much good stuff, to be honest, but I still feel it's one of those books I'm going to be curious about and try for myself even if I'm almost positive going into it that I'm not going to like it.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty good. I personally didn't think it was absolutely amazing like a lot of other people did, but still definitely worth reading!
DeleteCasual Vacancy was so weird. I mean, I didn't hate it but...
Glad to see that the last two weeks seem to have treated you really well-Based on your ratings most of you reads were hits! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing Heartbeat around the blogosphere a lot this week and every seems to have liked it every much-Definitely looking forward to it!
Last year I wasn't able to do much re-reading so this year I decided to change that-Currently I'm re-reading TFiOS and falling in love with it all over again! :D
Happy New Year, Nara! :)
I think most books I read, I like, so I tend to give a lot of high ratings! But yep, I definitely had a pretty good run, and it's continuing on til now, so I'm pretty happy :)
DeleteHeartbeat is pretty good! Definitely worth reading if you like contemporaries.
Ah, TFIOS. I love that book <3
EXO <333 And Little Talks is such a great song :)
ReplyDeleteWoo EXO! I love them performing that song live. So damn good.
DeleteI like the original Little Talks too, but I think I prefer this remix :)
Woo, Anna! I loved that book. It was so much fun and put a huge smile on my face once I was done. :) I'm so glad to see both Code Name Verity and Quintana get 5 stars from you. I was hugely impressed with both books, especially Quintana. I like the sound of this feature. I read way more than I can review, too (and more recently, I've been reviewing only about 20% of what I've been reading), so I think this is a great idea. :)
ReplyDeleteAnna is great! I'm so looking forward to Isla coming out :D :D
DeleteI was really surprised about how good Quintana was! For some reason, I just had semi-low expectations for it lol. But it was such a great conclusion to the series!
You can do a similar thing on your blog if you like, I mean, it's basically a weekly wrap-up but books read only rather than with a book haul and such :)
I have waaaay too many reviews to post as well! I just review everything on Goodreads, though, for benefit of my terrible memory. Aw, gosh, I forget everything. >_< But doing mini-updates is a great idea! I really want to read something by Rainbow Rowell...must get onto that.
ReplyDeleteI only really do mini reviews on GR when I have sth to say. Otherwise, I just rate the book haha.
DeleteYES! You have to! I recommend Fangirl the most ;)
I should do a reread of the Lemony Snicket books too. I really enjoyed them, but I read them all pretty much back-to-back, so the last few were a bit dreadful to get through. Maybe if I did one a month, I would enjoy them all more.
ReplyDeleteThe Series of Unfortunate Events books are so clever! I love how the author is actually part of the story too :)
Deletehaha I don't know if it's that original- it's basically a weekly wrap up post, but with only books rather than summing up what's been going on on the blog, I suppose :P
ReplyDeleteI just read so much that it'd be ridiculous trying to review them all. Plus, there are some books that you just don't want to review, you know?
