Attachments Read-Along: Thoughts Before Reading

Today is December 2nd, so we begin the first leg of the read-a-thon with Attachments!
(By the way, the Attachments read-along is hosted by both me and Chantelle, but Chantelle's name is probably not on the banner as it's too long haha)

Nara: So, Chantelle. Someone asks you to describe Attachments in three words. GO!

Chantelle: haha uumm… witty, adorable and addictive. It’s my favourite out of Rainbow Rowell’s three novels.

N: And if you had to compare it to any other book, what book would that be?

C: Hmmm I don’t think I can… the plot is certainly unique and I just love the characters so much I can’t think of a comparison. How about you?

N: If I absolutely had to, maybe The Boy Next Door by Meg Cabot. They’re really actually not alike at all, except that they’re both told in emails. Well, Attachments is only partially emails, and The Boy Next Door fully emails, but that’s a similarity. Probably the only similarity lol.

C: oooo have not read that! But with such a different writing style (emails and all), what was your first impression of Attachments before reading it?

N: To be honest, I don’t know if I had an objective first impression because all I was thinking was your voice being all “READ ITTTTTTTT!”

C: hahhahaha that is so true. I didn’t really know what to expect going into this either, I just trusted that it would be worth the read since it was by Rainbow Rowell.

N: Of course. Anything by Rainbow Rowell is honestly going to be amazing.

C: Hence Rainbow Rowell month WOOHOOO!

If you've read the book before, which scenes are you looking forward to rereading? (no spoilers in comments please!)

If this is the first time reading, what sorts of things do you expect from the book? What would you like to happen? What's your first impression of the book?

  1. I still have to read Attachments, but I recently read Fangirl and absolutely loved it! Also The Boy Next Door is one of my all time favourite books, so I'm happy to see you compare it to that. Happy reading! :)

    1. Attachments is great! It's really not that much like The Boy Next Door to be honest haha. Because only part of the story is told in emails :)
OMG I love Fangirl. Seriously one of my favourite books :D
